Lara Slachta is an experienced fund formation and investment management attorney, trained and practiced in top international firms and educational institutions. She represents fund managers and limited partners in private fund formation and investments, with specialties in venture capital and alternative investment funds.  Lara is an investment banking principal at Texture Capital and a digital securities licensed FINRA-member broker dealer, with FINRA licensed Series 7, 63, 79, 82, and 24, and formerly CEO and CCO of a registered broker/dealer focused private placements in social impact, sustainable businesses, and fintech.

Lara has nearly twenty years of experience as a corporate transactional attorney. Prior to joining GesmerUpdegrove LLP where she is currently a partner, she was a partner at FisherBroyles, LLP and served as chair of its Private Investment Funds Group and a member of the Fintech and Blockchain Group’s executive committee; Vice President and in-house counsel at Wellington Management Company LLP, a global investment adviser; and an associate at WilmerHale LLP and Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP.  Lara earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College where she graduated summa cum laude, and a graduate of Phillips Academy Andover.
